TikTok Pride Trailblazers: Building a Global Cultural Program

Overview

The Challenge

Pride Trailblazers was a high-visibility global creator initiative tied to TikTok’s sponsorship of LA Pride. The complexity wasn’t just creative - it was operational. The program required coordinating 12 high-profile creators, multiple internal teams, external partners, and live event components, all under tight timelines during Pride Month.

My Role

Led end-to-end program management, including cross-functional alignment, creator selection and onboarding, briefing and production workflows, and launch execution across PR, in-app placements, and live events.

Program Design

Creating Clarity at Scale

My first priority was aligning stakeholders across marketing, PR, partnerships, social, legal, and production. To do this, I defined clear selection criteria, deliverables, and timelines upfront, ensuring every team was working toward the same outcomes.

To streamline creator selection and approvals, I built a shared cross-functional tracker that centralized:

  • Creator reviews and approvals

  • Contract status

  • Asset delivery and revisions

  • Scheduling and launch timing

This system became the single source of truth for the program and reduced friction across teams.

Creator Management

Supporting Creators at Different Experience Levels

The creator group included individuals with a wide range of experience and comfort on large-scale campaigns. To ensure consistency and quality without stifling authenticity, I focused on structure and support.

I led structured briefing sessions, developed clear content guidelines, and coordinated closely with production teams so creators understood expectations while still having room to express themselves authentically.

The goal was simple: make creators feel confident, supported, and set up for success.

Launch & Execution

Coordinating a Multi-Channel Pride Rollout

Pride Month required a tightly coordinated launch across multiple surfaces. I developed a master launch calendar and managed weekly execution across:

  • PR and press moments, including a Teen Vogue feature

  • In-app placements and homepage modules

  • Partner media

  • Social channels

  • The LA Pride live activation

I oversaw asset creation, approvals, and sequencing to ensure the story unfolded cohesively across channels. The live event activation alone reached over one million live viewers.

Results

  • One of TikTok’s strongest cultural moments of the year

  • Over 1M live viewers during the LA Pride activation

  • Program framework adopted as a template for future cultural initiatives
